Social Media Content Creation Journey

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to creativity. Whether it was doodling in notebooks, styling outfits for fun, or planning little “photoshoots” with friends, I’ve always found joy in expressing myself visually. But it wasn’t until I discovered photography that I truly found my passion.

I still remember the excitement of winning photography competitions at the New York State level when I was in elementary school. At that age, I didn’t fully understand the magnitude of it—but I knew how it felt to capture something beautiful through a lens and have others recognize it. That early encouragement planted a seed in me, one that’s only grown stronger over time.

As I got older, my love for photography evolved. I began to see the magic in not just taking photos, but in creating entire visual stories. I started to fall in love with the whole process: planning the location, styling the outfits, choosing the color palette, and figuring out the perfect poses to bring a concept to life. It’s not just about snapping a picture; it’s about curating a vibe, evoking a feeling, and connecting with an audience through imagery.

My first semester as a freshman at the University of Miami I was placed into an introduction to photography course. This class requires the purchase of a digital camera. This was a game changer for me because previously I was always taking pictures with an iPhone. Throughout this class I was able to experiment more into the world of photography and storytelling. Various assignments allowed me to think outside of the box and figure out how to tell an entire story through just one image.

That creative process led me into the world of social media content creation, a space that has become such a powerful tool in today’s world. I’ve always been fascinated by how platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest allow us to share stories, connect with people, and inspire others through visuals. But beyond just sharing pretty pictures, I came to realize how important social media is for brands. It’s not just about aesthetics anymore; it’s about strategy, engagement, and authenticity. Content creation is storytelling, and social media is the stage.

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing companies such as Pepper Mayo, Edikted, Pickle, and Blackbough Swimwear. An absolute dream come true for someone who used to spend afternoons planning imaginary campaigns in their bedroom. What’s made these collaborations even more fulfilling is the creative freedom I’ve been given. I get to choose the clothing pieces that resonate with me, scout locations that match my vision, and design content that feels authentic to who I am. There’s something so empowering about being trusted to create content for a brand.

Every step throughout this journey has taught me something valuable. It reminded me of how important it is to stay true to your style, to continue honing your craft, and to never underestimate the power of a single photo. Whether I’m taking a picture, making a TikTok, or just capturing a spontaneous moment, I feel incredibly grateful that I have a creative outlet and am able to share it.

Social media content creation isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s a passion and a form of self-expression that I hold close to my heart. I can’t wait to see where this creative journey takes me next.
